The Opening of the Doorway
In the dreaming I see a place that I have not seen
I have a vision that is new and yet old
In the dream place I see a woman
Her name I know, though I have never seen her face.
Something within me, aware,
Acknowledges this simple truth
I see her as if for the first time, dressed in verdant hues
The gulls cry her name
Wise to the things we forget.
A crack opened between the worlds
A blindfold lifted.
How obvious it all seems
(Wondering why I did not see before.)
Primordial emotion wells up from the depths of my soul
A smile. She knows what I know.
On that day when perception changed
I walked through the doorway of the dreaming
And as I crossed over into her world
She stepped into mine.
